Whites~
Nice refreshing citrus nose. Kind of "spritzy" at first. Bright fruit flavors of Bartlett Pears, Fuji Apples, and a hint of Orange Peel. The finish is clean & crisp with a continuing citrus flavor.
2005 Louisvale Unwooded Chardonnay
WINEMAKER’S Comments… Tank fermented, producing a crisp flavor with a hint of tropical fruits. A delightful bouquet which lingers long after the last glass. 100% Chardonnay
87 points Robert Parker
"Flowers and white fruits are found in the delightfully pure aromas of the Unwooded Chardonnay. On the palate, yellow plums, melon balls, and notes of apple can be discerned in its light-bodied, flavorful personality. Simple, refreshing, and fun, this is a wonderful value for quaffing"
4-Stars Plus "Excellent: round, ripely flavored and mildly herbaceous, this Sauvignon is full bodied, well balanced, and long on the finish, tasting of lemon grass, apple, and tropical fruit."
"EXCELLENT quality for its type, style, and price. Among the very best of its type for its price.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED." Ronn Weigand RESTAURANT WINE ISSUE #102 - August 2004
Reds~
Soft and fruity with a hint of cassis and cherry, a real Merlot drinkers Merlot. All the fruit for this wine comes from a single vineyard.
Sporting a nose reminiscent of a gorgeous, high quality Cuban cigar drenched with sweet red cherry and blackberry juices, the 2002 Tradicional is a medium to full-bodied wine crammed with spices. Violets, roses as well as copious quantities of candied blackberries, cassis, and dark cherries can be found in this boldly flavored effort. A high-toned wine packed with considerable tannin, it cries out for the traditional Portuguese dishes of grilled kid or pork shoulder. Drink this excellent value over the next 3-4 years.

2004 Altos de la Hoya Ungrafted Monastrell
Ungrafted Old Vine Monastrell "A final tank sample of the 2004 Altos de la Hoya Monastrell Ungrafted Old Vines (8% Grenache is included in the blend) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with surprising elegance, sweet blackberry, smoky fruit, plenty of depth, ripe tannin, and admirable definition as well as finesse for a wine of this price range and region. It is a fabulous value that should be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years. "
